My name is Sam Cluthe and I am the chef and owner of Weekday Gourmet. I attended culinary school at Algonquin College and completed my Culinary Skills - Chef Training Certificate as well as my Food Safety Certification.

Originally, I was a marketing grad who worked as a business consultant, then my love for food took over - that’s when I decided to go to culinary school! Since then I have worked in some great Ottawa restaurants where I learned so much! I have a passion for cooking which drives me to discover and try new cuisines.

This ties into my love for travel where I've experienced a lot of different cultures and food. I’ve travelled to over 40 countries and have taken cooking classes in many of them including Argentina, Hungary, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and China. These experiences inspire my menu and flavours. My current favourite cuisines to eat are Korean and Mediterranean (they change often!).
